The Vehicle Management section provides comprehensive tools for managing individual vehicles, creating vehicle taxonomies, and organizing documentation and checklists. For additional details, see:

Vehicle overview

The main vehicle screen displays all vehicles in a searchable table with vehicle name, category, VIN/serial number, status, and IoT device status. Adding vehicles:
  • Add existing vehicle (via “add vehicle” dialog): Register existing vehicles by entering their short ID. Use this if you purchased IoT devices from c.technology AG or otherwise need access to known vehicles.
  • Create new vehicle (via “add vehicle” dialog): Set up completely new vehicles (initially without IoT devices, they can be added later).
  • Import from CSV: Bulk import multiple vehicles. You can either add IoT devices during import or link them later.
Click any vehicle to access detailed management across four tabs: Vehicle details, IoT & parts, Support & maintenance, and Subscriptions.

Vehicle details

On this tab, you can manage basic vehicle information and organizational assignment. You cannot edit any of the identification information shown on top, as this is managed by c.technology. The organization-specific fields are fully under your control and can be used to link a vehicle to other systems, or a type from the vehicle taxonomy. The last box contains all fields that are shared with everyone who has access to the vehicle: its name, license plate, VIN, etc.
If you select a vehicle type from your taxonomy, the vehicle will automatically inherit all fields defined for that type, and the fields brand and type from the last section will not be used.

Vehicle data

The data tab provides detailed insights into the vehicle’s data and status.
All data access will always be in accordance with organizational or personal access rights. For example, except if your organization is a VEHICLE_OWNER of a vehicle, its GPS location will never be shown.
For each numerical display, clicking on it will open a detailed time series chart with time extent selection.
If access is available, individual trips can be explored to get an overview of the vehicle usage. Finally, a yearly overview of the vehicle usage is given. Use the selectors on the top right to change the year.

IoT & parts

This tab allows you to manage IoT devices / Bluetooth connectivity and track installed vehicle parts. An IoT device is optional if a) you solely upload data via APIs or b) the vehicle is solely accessed via Bluetooth. If an IoT device is connected, you can see its status and details on the top. If no device is connected, you can add one by clicking the “Add IoT device” button. You can also remove an existing device if needed, for example, if you replace it or move it to another vehicle. The buttons next to the individual boxes let you query the platform for the latest data from the vehicle, or its SIM status. The result of the query will be shown in the boxes next to the buttons. Vehicle parts are used to track all installed components of a vehicle, whether factory-installed or aftermarket. This is helpful for storing serial numbers, managing warranties, etc.
Vehicle parts are also used for firmware management. You can assign firmware versions to parts, and then install them via the API. All installations are tracked in the installation history.
Vehicle parts can be automatically detected and synchronized if the IoT device or Bluetooth connectivity supports this feature.

Maintenance

The maintenance tab provides a summary of all past maintenance that has been performed on the vehicle. Additionally, all (DTC or other) errors that have been detected on the vehicle are shown. If you added error definitions in the engineering section, additional information will be shown for each error, including its severity, description, and suggested actions.

Support

In the support tab, you can manage access control and support tickets for the vehicle. As an OEM, you have the possibility to change user access for level 3 support.
Note that all changes to user and organizational accesses are logged and auditable.
The support section shows all tickets that have been created for the vehicle, including their status and history. Clicking on a ticket opens its details, see support ticket management.

Subscriptions

The subscriptions tab provides an overview of all active and past service subscriptions associated with the vehicle.
For most of your vehicles, you will not have to manage individual subscriptions, as they are handled globally on an organization level.
